Description
When it comes to tiling, a tile leveling system is a game-changer for achieving a flat, professional finish. These systems help ensure that each tile is at the same height as its neighbors, eliminating lippage (where one tile edge is higher than another). Here’s a breakdown of the common types of tile leveling systems:
- Clip-and-Wedge Systems (The Most Common Type)
These are the workhorses of tile leveling and are by far the most popular. - Apply tile adhesive and set the tiles.
- Slide the wedges into the clips, pushing them down until you feel resistance.
- Use a specialized plier tool (or sometimes just hand pressure, depending on the system) to further tighten the wedges. This pulls the tiles flush with each other.
- Once the adhesive has cured, the clips and wedges are usually broken off or removed.
