Description
Injection masterbatches are concentrated mixtures of pigments, additives, or both, encapsulated within a carrier resin. They are specifically designed to be incorporated into the base polymer during the injection molding process to impart desired properties.
- Color Masterbatches
- Pigment Masterbatches
Contain concentrated pigments (organic or inorganic) to achieve specific colors. - Solid Pigment Masterbatches
Pigments are dispersed in a solid carrier resin. - Liquid Pigment Masterbatches
Pigments are dispersed in a liquid carrier (often oil-based) and then encapsulated. These can offer better dispersion in some cases but require specialized dosing equipment. - Special Effect Masterbatches
- Metallic Masterbatches
Contain metallic pigments (e.g., aluminum, bronze) to create a metallic sheen. - Pearlescent Masterbatches
Contain mica flakes coated with metal oxides to produce a pearly or iridescent effect. - Fluorescent Masterbatches
Contain fluorescent pigments that absorb UV light and re-emit it as visible light, making them appear bright and luminous.
